It seems like every week or even multiple times in a week I read or hear about some comprise or theft or something about crypto…I can’t wait for this fad to finally get that final nail in its useless coffin.

I think someone realized it was too close to the awful CW TV show and thought it was better to axe it rather than afford another shitty movie from WB.
Maybe that or maybe they see the tide is turning and people (including me) are getting bored and tired of superhero films…we had some good ones and a lot of "meh" stuff but it’s getting stale now and soon those numbers will dwindle even more.
Another point could be maybe that like the tech sector, these execs are starting to see that spending hundreds of millions on things that don’t net the profit they are looking for are starting to cut back.
The days of cheap, bountiful cash to make things are over, time to show that you are worthy instead of just selling hype or a false promise…look at the shit that was "The Gray Man" 200 million for a boring, generic stinker of a film.

I mean that’s totally fine, I personally didn’t like it because I just thought it didn’t do anything particularly interesting or different, the characters felt a bit stiff and boring and the entire premise while fun seemed to be not sure what to really do with itself.
It was basically "rich lady gets cheated on and is sad, then finds out she owns a company and tries to keep busy by working in it but fails because she can’t relate to "everyday" people thanks to her wealth, hilarity is supposed to ensue"

Google stop please, you tried countless times and you still F up each time…it’s clear you don’t know or care about making a good or decent messaging app and even when you did you killed them for people to get needless promotions or bonuses.
I can’t wait once their ad money starts to dry and they actually have to come up with things that are good and not just dick around like they have been.

I hear you, I think once the next SE comes out (in about 2 years it looks like) I’ll probably just buy that instead of the regular phone, I have a regular 12 now so it doesn’t make sense to downgrade and pay more just to get a 3rd gen SE but I don’t feel the need to have even the standard model because I don’t really live on my phone and just having a good enough camera and a decent well-calibrated screen with iOS updates for like 5 years and I’m happy enough.
For all the "cool" things I thought were amazing about the 12 prior to launch, I don’t really notice on a day-to-day anymore, OLED? I watch things on my phone but I haven’t really seen a show or movie that really takes advantage of the OLED (even "black" is just a dark, dark grey in most content) the design and look are nice but I barely if ever even use the wide-angle camera since the quality isn’t as good as the main.
I don’t game much and just need a decent screen, speakers and mic and battery so SE it is for my next phone whenever the 4th gen will be out.

So in the words of someone else, it looks like this company sure "bolted" the market real quick…
Scooters were all the rage a few years ago but I never really thought they were a sustainable business…I mean you have to purchase the scooters from someone (or at least design them and get them manufactured) then you need the app, customer support, legal and all that plus a place to house all the scooters overnight (provided they aren’t just left all over the place all the time) and someone to collect and charge scooters and since people are maniacs and have no respect you’ll get a lot of them damaged, stolen or just broken.
How much profit can you possibly get? and that’s not even including the other competitors that all basically do the same thing. It’s a race to the bottom with the goal of trying to raise hype, get a ton of funding and then try to cash out before the entire thing burns.

Cripes people kill me…this debate over screen size is insane and has been going on forever. In the iPhone 13 mini reviews people rave about how much they love it and how everyone is upset about it maybe not coming back for the 14 series blah blah.
Then you have articles like this saying the 4.7 is too small for whatever reason….despite proof that literally most people I see in daily commutes or on transit never use either small phones (not the SE, barely see if ever the mini and so on)
The 60hz is another thing, seriously it’s fine, unless you have something to compare it to daily or often enough you will forget about it especially on a mid-class device like this.

I couldn’t help but think about the photographer in the article mentioning how fewer and fewer people are asking for their work or buying prints.
The reality is that the market is competitive too, and that goes for artists, musicians and photographers…I can literally see so many talented people in one place that it’s overwhelming. So just because you have a high page/post/profile view doesn’t always translate into having a good steady slew of business.

This looks interesting, but I’m just wary of shows that ask a lot of my time to watch, build up and seem to be interesting only to be let down.
I can’t say enough good things about Severence though, I can’t wait for season 2.
I tried to watch Loot, and honestly, it was so cringey that I couldn’t pass episode 2, it wasn’t even funny or fun, just the most surface-level comedy that did nothing interesting or different at all which is a shame because Maya Rudolph is a funny person but I felt like that show was just trying so hard to make itself seem funny or something and just failed.

Other brighter minds have already made some excellent points so it’s not worth beating the dead horse dead-er but honestly, Instagram went from what it was to basically Facebook but with a bigger focus on photos/video and with that all the problems FB actually has itself.
The problem is complex but chasing trends and not being really sure what you are (identify crisis) doesn’t help, so in this sense, Instagram feels like a TV show that started really good but doesn’t really know its own ending and somehow has become the Riverdale of social media apps.

I remember back when these were still major points of a review, speeds, connectivity, signal strength and call quality among other things that most people still use the phone for, calling people.
Aandtech used to do deep dives around those topics but sadly it’s become a shell of a site now

Then get ready to pay up for ALL the things you are asking for, doesn’t matter if that one piece you think costs $10 is in fact that much they need to test, check and build it into the phone and every extra step is more work which costs more.
Otherwise, you’ll have a jack of all trades and master of none type thing, I mean look at how many devices even with JUST rear fingertip or under screen still can’t do it right or fast enough and you want more stuff in the device?

Ah, the entire point of OLED is that when something is "black" it doesn’t need to turn on at all, unless the "black" you mean is a like a really dark blue/purple or grey but even then how hard are you staring at the thing?

How often do most regular folk just happen to have two devices with one having a higher refresh rate? and put them side by side?
Honestly, you get used to what you have, unless you constantly see or use something else it’s a non-issue or point IMO.

The bigger thing for Shopify was that its evaluation dropped by so much over the last year or so, right at a time when you’d think it would be on top of the world.
Pretty much every tech company that has IPO’ed in the last 5-7 years has seen a huge drop in evaluations because the market and extension people are waking up to the fact that a mattress company or a landlord with a shiny app shouldn’t be worth billions of dollars and I expect this to continue, the boom and bust of the late 90s is coming to tech again now but maybe not quite as bad as before.
Time will tell

That’s probably why Meta is so focused on the metaverse now because it’s the only real play they have left to make and it’s a big, huge bet.
Gen-Z already doesn’t really use Instagram, some might but that number shrinks every time and soon the only group left that does for the most part will also leave and it’ll be just like Facebook for Instagram with just lower and lower numbers of people using it each year.

I’m too old to be the main demographic of what they want to chase but I find the app less and less appealing each time they update or add something (wtf is notes even supposed to be?)
I have a really small amount of people and things I follow yet most of the posts on my feed are "suggested" or ads, or just things I really don’t care about. I barely even see things from actual people that I follow.
TikTok is cancer and should be destroyed but all people see is $$$ so they don’t care, once Instagram becomes too unbearable I’ll delete it.
Also if short video is so popular why did Vine or Meerkat or whatever not survive and do well? they were well ahead of TikTok

The Marvel fatigue is real I think, this current phase and whatever they have planned out just seems to get more and more complex so much so that I think Marvel will see a lot of the "normies" just drop off, I’m a huge fan myself but I’m less interested in the newer movies as each one comes out since the desire to just push the next "thing" is becoming so obvious now in almost all of it.
There are too many stories all happening now and none of it seems to logically tie together…Eternals, Skulls, Secret Invasion, Kang and goodness knows what else…
JW4 looks fun, it’s cheesy schlock but at least it’s well done and looks good so I can get behind that.
I’ll say it even if it’s not popular but if BP2 is going to do well only because of the feels based on Boseman then that’s not so good, we’ll see how the story goes but I found the first one to be pretty mediocre as far as Marvel goes.

Whelp I’m clearly in the wrong business if it all it takes is to make some big money is a bright and crappy banner on a questionable product and do a few short video clips and then charge a premium for said questionable content/product.
It reminds me of seeing some random company posting about t-shirts or sunglasses on instagram and making them with a cool and minimal design and marketing when in reality it’s just cheap crappy stuff with a fancy website.

Maybe, I mean I’m sure some of it is good (and I don’t mean things like squid game to be clear) I was referring to more of the really obscure things that pop up
