And that is the Apple market among the Booboisie Soccer Moms and Futball Dads in a nutshell.
For over twice the price of my Garmins, over the years, at this point Apple’s offering is still for the Booboisie Conspicuous Consumption Crowd.
Oh, and where’s the other sports gear from Apple, like the handlbar speedo and tracker?
If it makes Garmin focus on more refined product lines and a better computer interface (oh, and no ransomware network outages), I’m happy they get some competition for their Soccer Mom/Futball Dad lines, which is Apple’s target with their wrist candy.
I’m not about to switch with no bike speedo available, even if I do switch my phone to Apple because their iPhones are so much better than my ‘obsolete/unsupported’ Android flagship model in overall value.
Booboise Conspicuous Consumption.
Or, CHEAP Booboisie Conspicuous Consumption, cuz not buying the REAL Conspicuous Consumption in the Rolex/Breitling/Patek.
Oh, and Apple Watch screams, "My watch owns me because I’m someone else’s go-fer and have to be answering the phone all the time for them."
Yes, choice of what rattle to use IS a problem for little tykes.
For us adults, it only takes a few reviews and some ‘reading’ to narrow things down.
Go back to the The Notch Tastes Great/Less Filling argument threads with your trolling.
I’ve previously noted that my ideal is Garmin no-nonsense features (hardware and OS) along with Apple interface design and integration with a desktop.
Garmin is a nightmare of 1950s interface design and user twiddling with menus that have all the sophistication of pre-Windows PC ownership.

Microsoft jerking around Windows Mobile developers with multiple major changes in the OS in the last couple years killed Nokia. People gave up on trying to develop for a moving goalpost, and Microsoft gave no real support, cuz not Bidness Profit Margin.
Look at what Microsoft did to HP at the end when they cancelled Windows Mobile just as HP rolled out their suite of across the board compatible devices. That’s the behavior Microsoft developers saw as The Future.
Yeah, this will force me to dump my Garmin that is 1/2 the price and does all the REAL sports things I need it to along with suffering all the scratches and bumps without affecting the ‘babe magnet’ aura Apple tries to foster.
I don’t need Booboisie Conspicuous Consumption drivel that is all the Apple would offer me.
Oh, and where’s the Apple speedo for my handlebars, too?
I will be replacing a Samsung with an iPhone later this year because that is one instance where Apple design and tech DOES matter.

It’s NOT an adaptation of the original because Amazon has NO RIGHTS to use the original.
It is fradulent fan-fiction based on whatever detritus the writers can pretend is drawn ONLY from the Tolkien they have rights to.
I am dealing with it like the ‘Scam the Rubes’ fraud it is, and I do not have ANY issues with the casting, just with the lie that it is in any way based on the complicated mythology Tolkien created. This is not the comic book background that Star Wars is based on, this is a very complicated series of tales that cannot be told because Amazon was too cheap to buy the rights.

I’m fed up with it because it is actually a cheapskate imitation Tolkien because Amazon wouldn’t buy the rights to the REAL storyline.
Other productions like the recent Persuasion, Good Omens, The Hobbit and The Sandman, to name a few, were very well done in my opinion and managed to have a cast that is more like the world many of us live in today WITHOUT being cloying. I have read all those originals many times and have multiple copies, but I could see the changes made that actually invigorated the recent productions.
However, this spew of bad fan-fiction is just a fraud and Amazon knows it, but is trying to drown out the obvious problems using the usual ‘Murican reliance on CGI ’Gee Whiz’ when there is really no story deeper than a Bazooka Bubblegum comic.

Yeah, Confirmation Bias has been proven to operate just like that.

It’s actually "LOTR ‘Reimagined’ Cuz We Were Too Cheap To Pay for the Rights", NOT Tolkien’s original work.
The smell from this is overwhelming. The cheapskates who created this debacle are feeding people cow fertilizer on Ritz crackers and telling them it’s pate.

Real fans of Tolkien will shun this exploitation drivel.
Everybody else will watch it once for the cgi and blood baths.
It will slink to an unmarked and unlamented grave.
This reminds me of so many parodies of Holllllllywood!, from Monty Python’s Scott of the Antarctic/Sahara to any number of PG Wodehouse slams of the klag foisted on the audiences as ‘art’ by Producers unrestrained by their Nodders and Yes-Men.

These episodes of Cowboys and Indians in Middle Earth are different for one BIG reason.
Amazon does not have the rights to the intellectual property in the ACTUAL TOLKIEN that should be the REAL BASIS for these flicks.
The moneybags at Amazon are LYING by saying this is in ANY WAY connected with the story that actually forms the LOTR sagas.g
Once you have to discard the actual mythological basis the original author created for this entire history, there is NO LIMIT to the specious scripting.
