It’s been basically impossible to get BIS for the past 5 years at least, but the phones still work fine for talk and text. My son uses one, we love it for the durability and the battery, and no need to worry about social media use!
I’m confused how how they’ll actual kick these devices off the network. Seems like all they are doing is sunseting their BIS servers.??

I think you’ve got this mixed up. What you (I, we) prefer is screen size. Large screens can make you very productive if you have multi-window workflows. We definitely don’t prefer 100 PPI, we just don’t prioritize high PPI. There are lots of considerations like price and performance needed to drive displays that all have to be factored in, and it just happens that right now it’s not possible to get super large displays at higher PPIs, but I think it’s clear we’d want both large size AND high PPI if we could have it!
Through 150% scaling, a 49" display at 7680×2160 will be equally productive as a 49" 5120×1440 display, but with all the benefits of high density displays.
138 PPI seems like it’s targeted use-case is 125% scaling, which isn’t great for Windows OR MacOS. I would definitely prefer 150 PPI or more, but 100 PPI might be better than 138.
