It's been a long wait for Harry Potter fans, but as of today everyone can access the Pottermore website and begin their journey to becoming a wizard. The site is a type of social network centered around the books, and it offers DVD-like bonus features that follow each story. It's been stuck in a million-user private beta since August of last year and was originally set for an October release, but that was delayed due to server concerns. No matter, as the wait's finally over and you shouldn't have any problem trying to sign up for an account now. Pottermore still says it's in beta, but you can follow along The Sorcerer's Stone and have the sorting hat place you into Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. If you've somehow never heard of those names and haven't got a clue what any of this means, you might want to check out the Harry Potter ebooks that went on sale last month — you've got a lot of catching up to do.
